Living just two streets from the club, he played through all the youth teams and debuted in the first men’s team at 14 years old.
In 2015, he joined the KHC Dragons to enhance his skills. He won three league titles and a European medal at this club within three years. He moved to the Netherlands in 2018 seeking new challenges while playing for Pinoké in the Dutch Hoofdklasse.
The Red Lions, the men’s national hockey team of Belgium, welcomed Alexander Hendrickx into their ranks in 2010. His journey with the team began with the 2012 Champions Trophy, which marked his debut in international competition. By 2013, Alexander’s remarkable skills had earned him the prestigious Golden Stick award, naming him the most promising player in Belgium. His grit and dedication paid off at the 2016 Olympics, where, despite starting as a substitute, he played a crucial role in helping his team secure a silver medal.
Alexander and the Red Lions became World Champions in 2018 in Bhubaneswar, where he was the top scorer with seven goals. In 2019, the Red Lions won the European Championship on home soil, and Alexander was the top scorer again.
