Deepak Pradhan, affectionately known as “Jackson” among his teammates, is a promising talent in the world of Indian hockey. Born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Deepak has quickly made a name for himself as a formidable forward player.

Under the guidance of renowned coaches such as Edgar Joseph Mascarehnas, BJ Kariappa, and Lakshmi Nanarayana, Deepak has honed his skills and emerged as a key player for the Hockey Association of Odisha. Both the junior and sub-junior levels have recognized his talent, as he consistently delivers impressive performances.

In July 2024, Deepak Pradhan played a crucial role in the Odisha U-19 Men’s Team, helping them secure a gold medal at the 2nd Hockey India Junior East Zone Championships in Kolkata. This victory followed his earlier success in March 2023, where he contributed to the Hockey Association of Odisha team’s silver medal win at the 1st Hockey India Junior Men East Zone Championship in Jharkhand.

The 6th Khelo India Youth Games in January 2024 further showcased the young forward’s prowess on the field. As part of the Odisha men’s hockey team, Deepak showcased his skills at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, playing a vital role in their gold medal victory.

Deepak’s ability to perform under pressure was evident in May 2023 when he helped the Hockey Association of Odisha secure a silver medal at the 13th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship. At the prestigious Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Deepak showcased his growing expertise and tactical acumen on the field.
