Roshan Minz is an Indian field hockey player who has made a name for himself as a forward on the hockey ground. Nurturing a passion for hockey from his very childhood, Roshan’s consistent journey in growing into a top-notch hockey player is a testament to his vast talent.
Born in Karadapala village in Deogarh, Odisha, Roshan started playing hockey at an early age. His journey began in 1994, when he joined Panposh, a government sports hostel in Rourkela, where he learnt relentlessly to improve his hockey skills over the course of the following five years. Afterwards, he honed his talent at the Sundargarh Sports Hostel for two more years. He rose through the ranks fast, playing for teams in different state competitions. National selectors took notice of his outstanding achievements, and he quickly found himself wearing the Indian jersey.
Roshan’s speed, agility, and goal-scoring prowess as a forward have made him an invaluable asset to the team. He has continuously delivered outstanding performances, which have assisted India in winning numerous international and national competitions and trophies, including the Asian Championship trophy in 2012 and the 6th Hockey India Senior Men’s National Championship in 2016.
Despite his success, Roshan remains grounded, crediting his family, coaches, and teammates for their unwavering support and guidance. He continues to work tirelessly to improve his game, driven by his passion for hockey and his desire to bring glory to his country.
